Hanging at Vasser College

For the last four weeks the Palmer Galleries on Vassar College’s campus had the work of me and my partner, Michael Gellatly. Thursday, September 7th, we held a closing reception and art talk. There was a nice crowd. Michael and I showed up in almost matching outfits!

The exhibit was a sweet opportunity for us to really look at each other’s work, study our own work, and see how we fit together. The show, curated and hung by Amy Manso and Ed Cheetham, was called the “Osmosis Experience”!

Michael and I spoke about how our paintings evolved, what we found interesting about the other’s work, our roles as teachers, and our lifelong pursuit of learning. The night ended as we recapped the experience of our first significant collaboration- a giant alter-piece for the First Congregational Church in Poughkeepsie back in 2009. This show felt significant as another collaboration and the evening of the 7th ws one of the best nights of my life. Thank you Michael, Amy, Ed, and Vassar College for the delightful and moving experience.
